Bonferraro di Sorgà (VR) 2nd April 2019 – The Giro di Sicilia is back on the international race calendar after 42 years. Four days of great cycling, starting from Catania on 3rd April and an evocative arrival in Etna on 6th April: an important come-back that Alé could not miss. Neighboring RCS Sport, the organiser of the new edition Giro di Sicilia, Alé are pleased to announce the collaboration for the leader jerseys.
There are four jerseys for the event, all of which have been designed by Alé; the Red and Yellow jersey, which plays with the region’s colours, alternating red and yellow on an abstract geometrical design; the Orange jersey, which is the same design but has shades of the fruit which is the symbol of the region and of the sponsor (NamedSport) to which the jersey is dedicated; the Green Pistachio jersey, which is inspired by the earth and vineyards colours (Cantine Cellario); and the White jersey which is dedicated to the youth, (Tel Aviv-Jerusalem).
From a technical point of view, the Alé jersey for the Giro di Sicilia, is among the top lines of the brand collection. The jersey belongs to the PRR collection, a perfect combination between performance and design. Lighweight, race and ergonomic fit, the jersey is made using special fabrics like the microfiber 115g/sqm with a fine gauge structure, the breathable multifilament polyester for the side panels and the new aerodynamic fabric with ribs and three-dimensional elasticity for the dye-cut sleeves. The back and pocket panels are instead using the exclusive RIP PRO AIR material with a diagonal structure that allows a quicker drying process. Moreover, the elastic on the waist is made with a combination of a perforated fabric inside and a carbon filament fabric outside that helps to dissipate the electrostatic charges, it’s antibacterial and it eases the moisture elimination. Three back pockets and reflective details for added visibility on the road, complete the look.
Alessia Piccolo, CEO of A.P.G. S.r.l. the company owner of the Alé Cycling brand, has been very keen for this partnership with the new Giro di Sicilia: “It’s an honor and a privilege to be side by side to this new race on its first edition after such a long time. All our passion and love for this sport have been put in the development of these jerseys: our design is to pay homage to this beautiful region and to its colours! My best wishes for a great cycling event, which will spread the beauty of this land and our great cycling outside of the region.“
The leader jerseys will not be the only Alé jerseys in the race during the Sicilia 2019. Among the 18 teams at the start this coming Wednesday, we will see the Bardiani-CSF and the Riwal Readynez Cycling Team, along with several pro-teams that have selected the brand as their kit supplier.
