Chloe Hosking 2nd at the Omloop Van Het Hageland

The Australian star takes another podium in the beginning of 2018 with the second place at the Spar - Omloop Van Het Hageland, on the roads of Tielt - Winge (Northern Brabant),after the two victories in January in her Homeland and the 4th place at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad yesterday.

A big race which ended with a solo win by Ellen Van Dijk and the peloton just 10’’ behind the Dutch rider. The fotofinish determinated Chloe’s result, a few centimeters ahead of Jolien d’Hoore, coming back from behind.

The race by the Alé - Cipollini Team has been almost perfect: the athletes have been in the front of the race helping their Captain. Van Dijk attacked at 5 kms to go and the peloton tried to chase her and Chloe could take a great podium in the sprint. The Team will stay in Belgio where there will be the GP Le Samyn des Dames next Tuesday.

The Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti declared: “Very important podium, the team did an awesome work. We made the beat to win today and it confirms that we are a very strong and competitive team. Athletes and Staff have been perfect.”

Marta Bastianelli ended in 10th place the final stage of the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (Benidorm - Benidorm, 118 km), 2’39’’ from the British Hannah Barnes, who won the overall General Classification. Marta’s gap in the GC is of 2’54’‘.

The Sports Director Gulnara Fatkullina said after the stage: “This stage has been really tough, with a 8 kms long climb at the very beginning of each lap of the circuit. Ane did an incredible to limit the gap from the leaders and Marta could win the sprint of the chasing group.”
